Let's PRESS into Him and see His image PRESSED into us
Remember all it took for Him to call you His! And that He did it because He knows you FULLY and loves you DEEPLY!
We gather (via ZOOM) to pray from 12:30-1p tomorrow.
(Check your email for the ZOOM link)
Can you think of a better time to fast and pray?
(Matthew 17:19–21, NASB)
19 Then the disciples came to Jesus privately and said, “Why could we not drive it out?” 20 And He said to them, “Because of the littleness of your faith; for truly I say to you, if you have faith the size of a mustard seed, you will say to this mountain, ‘Move from here to there,’ and it will move; and nothing will be impossible to you. 21 “But this kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting.”
Passover begins tomorrow April 8th. And for the 2nd week in a row we will fast as a church from after dinner Tuesday until dinner Wednesday (to start the Passover).
We had 50+ on Sunday's Pre-Service Prayer and 15+ at last weeks mid-week prayer. Both were soul-nourishing times of seeking the intervention of the Spirit in many ways. This week, we will pray as the Spirit leads and allow Him to press in and upon us.
Remember...
FASTING is not just about stopping something BUT replacing something — like repentance. We don't just stop sinning, we move TO Christ!
We need to see it not so much as ‘FASTING’ BUT RATHER AS FOCUSING!
Fasting is really about making time to evaluate, and give increasing attentiveness to, the spiritual condition of your soul. It is turning your mind’s attention and hearts affection to Him praising Him for who He is and what He’s done.
In a word — it is worship.
As we walk into the Resurrection Weekend in a time that keeps us from physically gathering, things like fasting TOGETHER can be used by the Spirit to knit our hearts together. Will you join me? I pray you will for TOGETHER we are Kingdom PEOPLE, living by Kingdom POWER for Kingdom GLORY.
[Stay tuned for more information coming soon about the Good Friday and Resurrection Sunday times of Worship in Praise and the Word.]
MUCH LOVE!
Pastor Doug
