Celebrate God's Story in the Seder

Our time for FRamily Worship for Sunday April 5th

Our God is telling an amazing story. Sure, the page we are on right now may not feel very good for most of us, but He will soon turn the page and all of this will make the future glory that is to be revealed shine ever more brightly. But rest assured — THE LAST CHAPTER OF THIS BOOK HAS ALREADY BEEN WRITTEN. And, better still, your Prologue is full of fulfilled promises! His story is one of grace and truth and of redemption and restoration in the midst of our rebellion. His story is a story of a pursuing God and a loving Lamb. And few things tell His gospel story like the Passover Seder. This part of the story comes from FOUR “I will…” statements found in Exodus 6:

‘I am the Lord, and I will bring you out from under the burdens of the Egyptians, and I will deliver you from their bondage. I will also redeem you with an outstretched arm and with great judgments. Then I will take you for My people, and I will be your God... — Exodus 6:6–7

The beauty of the Gospel is found in these two verses written 1400 years before The Christ even came. And this is what we celebrate tomorrow in the Seder. We have been celebrating the Seder together for 7 years and we are not going to let COVID-19 stop us now! The Passover actually begins on Wednesday April 8th (a day of partial fasting for us as a FRamily so be sure to join us), but we will teach on the Seder message tomorrow April 5th as a way to help you prepare your hearts for Resurrection Week — April 6th thru April 12th.

This week’s message “Celebrating God’s Story” is part of our “Living Like Christ” Resurrection Season series. Let's stay focused on Him, His goodness and His glory, His power and His victory, and there find rest for our wearied and worried souls. We have several things coming this week to help us do just this:

  • Pre-Service Worship in Prayer Sunday's from 9:30-10am via ZOOM.

  • Gathered Prayer Wednesday 12:30-1pm as part of our partial fast and start to the Passover via ZOOM.

[Check your email and don’t forget to check Junk Mail regularly.] As a way to help ensure only those invited can join the Zoom meetings, we will NOT be posting the Zoom link invites to the website or social media, but emailing those who are in our church database. If you are not getting those emails, first check your Junk Mail, then contact Pastor Jeff to get us your email ASAP.
  • Good Friday Video Service — “Embracing Suffering

  • Resurrection Sunday Service — “Recognizing Christ’s Glory

I pray you are taking advantage of ALL the resources we are making available online to help you WORSHIP on Sunday:

  • MUSIC — the Music Team is uploading 3-4 songs with lyrics each week. You can play this recording by going to our Cornerstone Church AZ YouTube channel. I know your soul will be nourished and your heart prepared to hear His Word.

  • LEAD HELPS — (under Handouts) this document has a suggested flow, Bible readings, additional discussion questions, etc. I want to PERSONALLY CHALLENGE THE MEN in our FRamily to download this resource and PLAN YOUR FAMILY WORSHIP time with your spouse, your kids, whomever the Spirit has you leading.

  • CONNECTING POINTS - has all the usual ingredients: Daily Readings, Prayer Pointers, Table Talk Questions

  • BULLETIN - stay up to date on all that is happening

  • KID’S CONNECT - help keep your kids focused on the Lord

  • MESSAGE - via the church Message Page or directly from Cornerstone Church AZ YouTube channel.

My dear Faith Family, your willingness to step into this space will take our worship time to a whole new level. And BEYOND THAT, I truly believe that if we will use this God-created time well, it will take us to an entirely new place as the People of God called Cornerstone Church when we are all able to gather once again. We DON’T want to just 'ride this thing out' and be who we were before it started. NO! That would be to waste what He is trying to do to prepare His Bride and make her ready for His return. We want to become that bride! So let us make the most of the time He is giving us.

And this is the plan: At the right time he will bring everything together under the authority of Christ—everything in heaven and on earth.Ephesians 1:10

That GLORIOUS DAY is ever approaching. Let’s KEEP LOOKING UP! (Luke 21:28)

My shepherd’s heart misses you greatly!

MUCH love!

Pastor Doug
